Re-runs Forever in my Mind by JoeMcGro Re-runs Forever in my Mind by JoeMcGro
As I'm sure everyone who follows me is already aware, I was raised on Nicktoons. As in, my parents gave birth to me... and Nicktoons made me the man I am today. Well, and a little bit of Cartoon Network, but far more Nickelodeon.

Rugrats, Doug, Ren and Stimpy, Angry Beavers, Invader Zim, KaBlam!, Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold, Spongebob, CatDog, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Danny Phantom, Fairly Odd Parents, My Life as a Teenage Robot, Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls, 2 Stupid Dogs, Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Samurai Jack, Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, Spider-man, X-Men, Batman, Chip and Dale, Talespin, Darkwing Duck...

So here's a small tribute to some of my favorite shows of the ones listed (again, mostly Nick shows). I still watch all of these whenever I have the chance. Wish I could watch more though.

I might do another of these later, maybe get something from all the shows that raised me.

Even if they cease to exist in the real world.

Ever heard of a Web Premier Toon called Mr. B. Happy?

If you can find any trace of its existance, you're abetter scholar than I'm, 'cause I KNOW Sis and I have seen it, but it ain't on Cartoonnetwork.com no more for a long, long time.

So, most of the time, nobody understands our inside joke whenever we yell out: "Marty!  Fix this damned thing!" whenever we 'experience any technical difficulties' with electronics.

This piece is great. It's a really good tribute to those shows (I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers 2 stupid dogs and Kablam).

I like how you meshed your own drawing style with the ones each character comes from. You made it so that they could all occupy the same picture and look like themselves without clashing. Kudos to you!

They were - besides Henry and June (who IS a girl) - the most popular segments. Third and fourth, IMO were: Angela Anaconda (who got her own series, just as Action League NOW! did, both of which were made up of cut-and-pasted KaBLAM! episodes without Henry and June or the other segments) and The Off-beats (the style for which reminds me of the actually good [adult swim] series, The Oblongs [it and Mission Hill were my jam and the only reason beyond Futurama to watch late-nite Cartoon Network]).

Now, now... Don't knock the 80's. A lot of us 80's babies (those born in the 80's) were still kids/early teens ourselves when the 90's began. Plus, good quality is good quality, no matter the generation. For example, there are some good shows from the 2000's (Kim Possible, Teen Titans [the original 2003-2006 series], Invader ZIM [2001-2002, but coming back as a comic book], All Grown Up [not all that bad, although quite a few fellow Rugrats fans would disagree with me], Avatar [both Aang and Korra], Danny Phantom, Justice League, Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Kids Next Door, Lilo & Stitch: The Series, etc.) and present (Phineas & Ferb, Gravity Falls, Wonder Over Yonder, the new Mickey Mouse shorts, 2012-2014 TMNT, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, etc.).

Not as many as we would think from the 80's and 90's, but then, even the 80's and 90's had some questionable stuff in it, most of which was forgettable, whereas what most popular remember from both decades would be the good stuff (80's: He-Man and She-ra, Thundercats, G.I. Joe, Transformers, Inspector Gadget, anything from Jim Henson [both Fraggle Rock and Muppet Babies began and ended in the 80's alongside reruns of The Muppet Show and TV airings of the Muppet movies and, of course, Sesame Street continuing to this very day], Winnie the Pooh [both the live puppet suit series Welcome to Pooh Corner and the New Adventures cartoon began then], The Real Ghostbusters [based on the 1984 film], the start of The Disney Afternoon [Gummi Bears, Ducktales, and Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers], Heathcliff, Garfield and Friends, Alvin & the Chipmunks [80's comeback and the introduction to The Chipettes: Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor], The Smurfs, The Snorks, Dennis the Menace, 1987 TMNT, Beetlejuice: The Series [it started in 1989 after all], The Super Mario Bros. Super Show; 90's = Captain Planet, Sonic [AoStH and "SatAM", as most hate Underground], Street Sharks [a shark version of TMNT basically], Nicktoons [in general, but I mostly preferred KaBLAM! and the slice-of-life shows: Doug, Rugrats, and Hey Arnold...although I must admit to enjoying both Rocko's Modern Life and Ahhh! Real Monsters every so often, but I was never into Ren & Stimpy, personally], Kid's WB [read as, the Ruegger-Spielberg cartoons: Taz-Mania, Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Pinky & the Brain, Freakazoid, Road Rovers, Histeria, etc.], Cartoon Network [besides the classics and Toonami airing anime, we got the birth of the Cartoon Cartoons], the continuation of The Disney Afternoon [Tailspin, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, and Bonkers] which gave way to One Saturday Morning [Aladdin: The Series, Gargoyles, Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa, Mighty Ducks: The Series, and Quack Pack all moved to the new block, which began with a re-branded Doug and his female counterpart Pepper Ann, Recess, 101 Dalmations: The Series, Hercules: The Series, etc. but moved onto The Weekenders, Lloyd From Space, Teacher's Pet, House of Mouse, and Teamo Supremo], Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers [to me, the only Ranger era that matters]...plus many more).
